El Romo is a small hamlet some 10 minutes by car from Comares. The houses lie scattered over the hillsides. There is a local bar, which also serves food, where people meet for a game of dominoes, or simply to pass the time. For shopping Comares or Colmenar have everything you could need on a day by day basis – both villages have a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. The coast at Velez-Malaga, and Málaga city, are both some 45 minutes drive.
